YOUNG OBSERVERS INTERNATIONAL

“To forge international friendship and encourage teens across the globe to share their voice …we need to have courage and confidence to do these things so we can build a better future for us and the next generations.”

Instead of working full time in their farms, students at Balete Family Farm School (BFFS) go to school to finish high school  while also learning efficient  farm management so that they can grow their farm business.  Young Observers International (YOI) is partnering with BFFS  to build international friendship with their students while learning social and public-speaking skills. For school year 2023 – 2024, the school has selected students to connect with YOI club members through a monthly Zoom assembly wherein they participate in team projects and team games.  Through this undertaking YOI hopes to create meaningful opportunity for students of both countries to gain new friends while learning to share their voice on topics that impact the youth.

Annual YOI Conference 2022-2023

Young Observers is not just a group of student volunteers who write for the Fullerton Observer. Now in its 5th year, the club has expanded to include a separate group of volunteers who have come together to cultivate friendship with students from underresourced communities and inspire them to nurture their public speaking and social skills.

Students from Balete Family Farm School of the Philippines participated in the program that was conducted by volunteer students from local OC schools. Besides the monthly assemblies and team projects held within the school year, the Young Observers International (YOI) wrap up the school year with its annual friendship conference.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PARTNER SCHOOL

We are profoundly grateful for having been chosen by your club to be the recipient of your generosity. Our school is one of the smallest, if not the smallest school in the Philippines.

Once again, thank you to our young friends from across the globe for supporting the education of the rural youth in the Philippines. May your club continue to flourish and help many young people! We wish your club the best in all of your future activities
